The seasons are quickly changing and many summer bugs will be looking for a way inside your home for comfort and warmth. Unfortunately, this includes termites, which will soon be on the hunt for a space to claim as their own. The worst part about it is that there could be things lying around your house that are already attracting these pests to your home, and you don’t even realize it!

A nearby termite infestation could mean that the area around your home is the right condition for termites to live, breed and of course eat the infrastructure inside your walls. With homes being built very close together, it’s definitely within reason to take a few steps toward preventing termites from entering your home, or finding out if they have nestled inside your walls already.
Termite Prevention: Fight Back Before Their Arrival
We truly can’t stress enough the extreme damage that termites can bestow upon your home or business. These little soldiers have unfaltering determination to destroy all in their path. Once discovered, they have typically already done a large amount of stealthy damage to the building, at which point you must deal with the repercussions – with what’s in your wallet.
So now that we’ve established that we don’t want these little buggers entering our humble abodes, how can we avoid them? Again, the best extermination is one you never have to deal with! Termite prevention is key and one of the best termite treatment options is an investment in a pre-construction termite treatment. At Syd Pest & Termite control, we have vast experience applying termite pretreatment to new buildings before they’re fully constructed. By doing this, we have the advantage of knowing all the hiding spots before they’re developed and shielding them from invasions with a termite pre-treatment.
Prevention options
Termite bait system. This system can be installed outside of your property. Since wood is known to attract termites, these systems have wooden base. When the termite approaches the wood a poisonous lace replaces it on which the insect then proceeds to feast on. After that, the termite carries the poisonous food to the whole colony. This is a great device that can be found in many stores.

A barrier treatment. This is one of the most economical ways for getting rid of termites . It uses different termite products such as Termidor as a barrier​. Fipronil is a non repellent active substance that can be found in Termidor will install a protective zone around the exterior of your Home in accordance with AS 3660.2-2000 and the chemical manufacturer’s’ label. It acts by attracting the termites to itself and then once they have entered the affected area they die off slowly .
This would involve either trenching to a depth of 80mm below the top of the footing or drilling 10mm holes at distances no greater than 200mm apart in concrete, brick or tiled areas and injecting emulsion into these holes.
Or will install a protective zone Biflex a repellent active substance Bifenthrin active ingredient is a repellent Chemical around the exterior of your Home in accordance with AS 3660.2-2000 and the chemical manufacturer’s’ label.
